Zairmail, Inc. Offers Customers the Opportunity to Win One of This Season's Hottest Gifts PORTLAND, Ore. - Dec. 11, 2000 - This year, you don’t need to beg, borrow or even steal to get the season’s hottest gift. Zairmail, Inc., the first company to facilitate the convergence between the Internet and postal mail on a large scale, is sponsoring the "PlayStation® 2 Frenzy" Sweepstakes. Beginning December 8, ten lucky registered users of Zairmail letters will win a Sony PlayStation® 2, just in time for the holidays. To enter, customers must go to the Zairmail site at www.zairmail.com. Zairmail awards one entry at the time of registration, one entry for each paid letter sent and five entries when the sender uses the Tell-a-Friend email link One winner is selected each business day between December 8 and December 21. "We all know how wonderful it feels to give the ‘perfect’ holiday gift to someone you love. With the overwhelming demand for the Sony PlayStation® 2 this year, that may mean standing in long lines, going from store to store, and taking rain checks," said Wilson Zehr, CEO of Zairmail. "This year, we are hoping to make that process easier for ten lucky winners. In addition, we are providing a quick, easy and inexpensive way for consumers to tell friends and family how special they are by sending them holiday greetings through Zairmail." The Viral Campaign As part of the promotion, Zairmail has started a viral marketing campaign, sending email messages to 30,000 U.S. based consumers, targeted at the gaming community and parents. The campaign features a security camera showing a line of customers waiting to purchase their Sony PlayStation® 2’s. After a young man pays for his purchase, an elderly woman attacks him, grabs the PlayStation® 2 and runs out of the store with her "hot gift". The campaign is expected to reach 150,000 consumers, all of who will be eligible to win once they go to www.zairmail.com and register. Zairmail Holiday Letter Zairmail is a quick, easy and inexpensive way for consumers worldwide to send all of their personalized holiday letters to friends and family anywhere in the United States through the U.S. Postal Service. It’s as easy as logging on to www.zairmail.com, composing your holiday letter online and pressing send. The letter is then printed at the Zairmail facility closest to the destination, addressed and inserted into an envelope along with a holiday card. The U.S. Postal Service distributes the letter by first-class mail for rapid delivery -- overnight in supported markets. Senders have the option of choosing from six different holiday stationery themes. Included with their letter and envelope is a holiday greeting card. Holiday letters can be sent for free if the sender chooses to include useful product information from advertisers. These offers are selected in part by the sender to ensure the maximum value for the recipient. If a sender prefers not to include a customized ad page, each letter will cost $.50 including the holiday card. Toys for Tots™ Donation Zairmail is also helping to make this holiday season brighter for those less fortunate. In addition to qualifying for the Sony PlayStation® 2 Sweepstakes, Zairmail will donate $ .50 to Toys For Tots every time a consumer registers with Zairmail through January 2, 2001. It is a wonderful opportunity for Zairmail and Toys For Tots to help children in need during the holiday season.
