Zairmail, Inc. to Offer First-Ever Mail-on-Demand Service to Bridge the Gap Between the Internet and Traditional Mail to Board of Directors

PORTLAND, Ore. - Aug. 30, 2000 – Zairmail Inc., a new online service, today announced plans to bridge the digital divide between e-mail users and the majority of U.S. households, which still lack Internet access.

Zairmail's desktop-to-doorstep mail infrastructure looks to dominate the express communication segment of the $42 billion direct mail market by providing express delivery in major markets.

Zairmail's backing by Timberline Ventures (the Northwest affiliate of Draper Fisher Jurvetson), the firm's relationship with a leading printing producer, Xerox Corporation, and a seasoned board of directors have quickly established Zairmail as the first provider of large-scale Mail-on-Demand (MoD) services, or the distribution of electronic mail to print and fulfillment network to speed mail delivery time -- overnight in many cases.

"Although the Internet has revolutionized communications, the postal service remains king when it comes to reaching consumers,"said Wilson Zehr, CEO of Zairmail." Zairmail provides businesses and consumers with the best of both worlds: a fast, cost-effective and convenient way to compose a message online and deliver it quickly via postal mail.

"By creating the MoD category with our proprietary technology and partnerships, we aim to turn mail into an even more powerful tool for businesses and consumers."

Mail-on-Demand

Zairmail provides Internet-driven print communication, and is the first company to enable convergence between the Internet and postal mail on a large scale. The foundation of Zairmail is a geographically distributed MoD system. Using Zairmail, electronic content is routed across the Internet to a location near where it must be delivered, and then automatically printed, folded, inserted and presented to the postal service for the next day delivery.
